For this shot I painted over a prosthetic belly that the actress was wearing to appear pregnant.
It looked rather unconvining and plastic and a lot of seams were visible.
I ended up painting her an entirely new belly, stretchmarks and all.
I painted all the textures for the baby, including wet/matted hair, the greasy vernix and blood.
The baby’s robes proved difficult to do realistically in the conventional manner,
so I painted a matte painting of said cloth that was camera-projected in comp onto simple, animated/deforming geometry.
